What are the different styles of Adult circumcision
& what do they mean
PARTIAL CIRCUMCISION
A partial circumcision involves removing a portion of the foreskin, leaving some intact. It’s an alternative to a full circumcision where the entire foreskin is removed. The decision to have a partial circumcision depends on the individual’s specific situation and the underlying reason for considering circumcision.
Why WOULD A PARTIAL CIRCUMCISION BE PERFORMED
- Some individuals prefer to preserve a portion of the foreskin for personal or aesthetic reasons, or if they’re concerned about potential complications of a complete circumcision.
When WOULD A PARTIAL CIRCUMCISION NOT BE PERFORMED
- If the foreskin is severely tight or scarred and is visible due to phimosis or other conditions, a partial circumcision might not be feasible, and a complete circumcision might be necessary.
How is A PARTIAL CIRCUMCISION done?
- The doctor performs the same way as a full circumcision, the doctor will explain and show you before performing the circumcision, so you ultimately will decide on the amount of foreskin removed.
Benefits & risks OF A PARTIAL CIRCUMCISION
- A partial circumcision may offer a more natural appearance and potentially preserve some sensitivity of the glans. If you have Phimosis, Balantitis, or the inability to retract the foreskin, a partial circumcision is not recommended. It is common for sutures when performing a partial circumcision.
- A cosmetic circumcision is a surgical procedure aimed at enhancing the appearance of the penis, particularly by removing excess skin or addressing sagging or asymmetrical skin. It’s performed for non-medical reasons. The primary goal is to improve the aesthetic appearance of the scrotum, often addressing concerns like sagging skin, asymmetry, or excess skin folds. With a “cosmetic circumcision”, some of the terms used are High & Tight or Low & Loose. If you’re considering circumcision or just curious about the subject, you might have heard the terms “high and tight” and “low and loose.”

COSMETIC CIRCUMCISION - HIGH & TIGHT!
First off, “high and tight.” Sounds like something you’d order at a barbershop, right? But in the context of circumcision, it’s all about where and how the cut is made.
High: Imagine a cut that’s made higher up, leaving more of the inner foreskin. It’s kind of like wearing your socks pulled up high.
Tight: Then, the remaining skin is pulled snug, leaving everything neat and tidy.
LOW & LOOSE ADULT CIRCUMCISION
Now, let’s move on to “low and loose.” It’s the opposite in many ways:
Low: The cut is made closer to the tip of the penis, leaving less of the inner foreskin. Think low-rise jeans.
Loose: The remaining skin isn’t pulled tight; it’s left more relaxed, allowing a bit more wiggle room.
People who prefer a more natural look might be drawn to this method, but it’s not for everyone.
